DIY Filmmaker Meetup
Detroit area filmmakers are invited to the “DIY Filmmaker Meetup” this Thursday, Dec. 10th from 7pm to 9pm.
This is a networking event, for filmmakers of all experience levels to:
- Meet your fellow filmmakers
- Show off your current and past projects
- Find opportunities to collaborate with your peers
- Recruit cast and crew for your future projects
This event is co-sponsored by Silver Bullet Pictures and Made by Detroit and hosted by i3Detroit, a non-profit, community-based workshop for creative endeavors of all kinds.

Saturday August 15th: Le Hoots presents a live art show!
This Saturday August 15th 2009 Le Hoots presents a live art show at The Comet Bar in Detroit from 9p-2a. Le Hoots has set out to put on a monthly live art show project that allows local Metro Detroit artists to be seen and sell their art work without fees to the artists. Le Hoots brings Art and Music together to help bring more awareness to the local art community of Detroit.

i3 Detroit will be attending a “TechShop Movement” discussion at the UofM
i3 Detroit has been invited to what Associate Vice-Presidents Marvin Parnes
and Dan Atkins expect to be a very interesting opportunity to learn about
the “TechShop movement” and to consider a planning process for a DetroitTechShop
model that blends education, economic renewal,innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Phoenix Wang, advisor to the William and Flora HewlettFoundation,
Diana Rhoten, Director, Digital Media and Learning at the SocialScience Research Council,and Mark Hatch, COO of TechShop in Menlo Park,California
will be here to present and discuss TechShop and how it may be ofvalue to Detroit.
We will make sure to provide further updates of the outcome of the event.
